Initially, the building envelope is divided into floors, each with one room, a glazing band, and external shading. Four corresponding Floor objects, each containing a Room object are added to the Building object hierarchy in the project tree.

With Auto zoning, the rooms on each floor are split into room divisions. The outer room divisions are set back, and are part of the outer zones. The inside room divisions are part of the inner zones. Corresponding Room division objects are added to each Room object in each of the four Floor object hierarchies in the project tree. Also, new Zone objects are created in the Zones hierarchy, each containing Room division objects.
